Fondant icing (also known as sugarpaste or covering paste depending on who you ask) can often be quite traditional, but it can also be a brilliant medium for more creative cakes! Not to be confused with its much harder and more brittle cousin Royal Icing, it’s versatile, colourful, and can be used to create some beautiful things. You can have anything from bespoke handmade figures to trailing flowers, or just a simple logo on a 2D cake if that’s what takes your fancy. Fondant is also ideal for tiered cakes as it provides a bit more support.
Prices start at £70 for a 2D (no figures) 6″ cake. Figures are priced separately based on how many you want and their complexity.
